Our Special Needs Pets

At Saving Paws, we believe ALL pets are worth saving. Part of our mission is to help special needs pets find new forever homes – whether it be with new adoptive families, or with us. The following special needs pets each have a unique story. Please read more about them by clicking on the links below – and please consider making them a part of your family!

Mina

Looking for a loving tortie? Mina is a 4-year-old female shorthair tortie who is an absolute doll! She had a very rough start in life and has healed from her sad past and is such a loving, wonderful little girl! We all love her so much at the shelter.

Mina has beautiful, one-of-a-kind coloring and will just gaze in your eyes with love. Her poor little eyes, she has an eye condition where her eyes water a lot, and she may need eye cream for awhile for this condition. She is also spayed. This wonderful little one would love to be your true companion for years to come!

Bob

Need lots of love? Bob sure would love to share his love with you! Bob is an incredibly loving, sweet boy who is looking for that special someone to shower his affection on! Bob is a beautiful medium hair black and gray tiger who is a big sweet loverboy! He is about 2 years old. Bob was diagnosed with feline leukemia, but we think he deserves to have a loving home anyways, as kitties can live for quite awhile with leukemia, they just need extra special care (not to be let outside, not to be exposed to the elements, etc. so they don’t get sick). He is already neutered, so he’s ready to come home with you now and love you to pieces!

Buddy

Loving, laid back, relaxed snuggle bug seeks forever companion! Buddy is a happy-go-lucky loverboy who would love to love you! He is a nice, relaxed boy who has beautiful orange and white tiger coloring, he is just adorable. He is about 3 years old. Buddy was diagnosed with feline leukemia, but we think he deserves to have a loving home anyways, as kitties can live for quite awhile with leukemia, they just need extra special care (not to be let outside, not to be exposed to the elements, etc. so they don’t get sick). He is also already neutered. This wonderful boy would love to shower his affection on you, will you give him a chance?

Sunnie

Sunnie is a beautiful shorthair orange and white kitty who is sweet little girl! She is a little shy at first but once she sniffs you and you give her a couple pets she warms up to you quickly and then just wants more love and affection and pets. Sunnie has deformed front paws that are twisted around, we think it was a birth defect, but this doesn’t stop her from getting around just fine! She will not be able to be declawed. Sunnie is about a year and a half years old and is already spayed. She just wants a warm lap to snuggle up on. She would do best in a quiet home as the only pet. This wonderful sweetheart would love to bring you joy and laughter for years to come!

If you are interested in meeting Sunnie, please contact Cat Adoption Coordinator Amy at savingpawscats@new.rr.com or 920-574-3080.

   FYI About FIV Cats

We often have FIV positive cats in our care. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a rare disease that affects under 3% of the US cat population. It is essentially kitty AIDS and affects the kitty’s immune system. However, kitties with FIV can live for years as carriers of this disease and never be affected by it – especially if they are indoor-only kitties who are not exposed to the dangers and elements of the outdoors. We believe all pets are worth saving, even if they have diseases like FIV, which is why we believe all pets deserve a loving new home. FIV is only spread to other kitties through bite wounds, so it would be rare he could pass it to another house cat. For more information on FIV in cats, please visit the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
